POSITION DESCRIPTION

• Prepares quarterly reports and filings for regulatory compliance.

• Reconciles assigned general ledger accounts.

• Prepares month-end and quarter-end closing journal entries within required timelines.

• Prepares various monthly reports for internal and external customers.

• Documents procedures for SOX compliance.

• Prepares GST, PST, premium tax returns by the required timelines.

• Prepares accurate and timely business partner settlements.

• Determines and prepares tax installments.

• Assists with income tax provisions and returns.

• Liaise with other departments to ensure data is received on a timely basis.

• Assists with quarterly variance analysis.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• College Diploma or University Degree, or post-secondary education, or equivalent work experience. 

• Preferably 4th level CGA or CMA program with a minimum 3 years working experience in accounting and finance. 

• Strong PC Skills required, especially Word and Excel

• Familiarity with insurance principles, practices, statutory, and regulatory reporting. 

• Strong organizational, time management and documentation skills

• Able to manage simultaneous multiple priorities with competing/conflicting timelines, ensuring that tasks are completed accurately and timely

• Able to work with minimum supervision

• Willing to ensure that deadlines are met
