POSITION DESCRIPTION |

Reporting to the
Chief Financial Officer
-
Ensure the
accounting platform supports the production of timely,
accurate and complete information for management and
financial reporting purposes.
-
Responsible for
corporate/investment accounting; general ledger and accounts
payable and control procedures
-
Responsible for
preparation of P&C1, IFRS financial and note;
corporate/investment accounting; general ledger and accounts
payable; income tax provision & annual T2 tax return
-
Quarterly submission
of consolidation numbers to Head Office including Cash flow,
Shareholders Equity and tax comments
-
Quarterly submission
of consolidation numbers to Head Office including Cash flow,
Shareholders Equity and tax memo

REQUIREMENTS |
-
6+ years accounting and/or finance
experience in the P & C industry
-
Strong system skills - Excel, People
Soft, Business Objects, Magnitude (consolidation software)
and Dimension (Investment software) preferred
-
Effective skills in leadership,
analytical and problem solving; oral and written
communications
-
Willing to do what is necessary to meet
rigid deadlines
-
In-depth knowledge of Canadian GAAP
investment and tax accounting; working knowledge of IFRS
-
Professional designation – CA/CMA/CGA; commitment to tight
reporting deadlines
