POSITION DESCRIPTION

• Actuarial valuations of post-retirement and post-employment benefits programs;
  
• Maintenance of a variety of Excel-based group benefit actuarial tools;
  
• Preparing quarterly experience reviews and renewal underwriting analyses;
  
• Reviewing contracts, employee booklets and financial statements;
  
• Preparing specifications for seeking quotations;
  
• Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of group systems, products and technology, and have a thorough understanding of how these relate to group insurance consulting; and
  
• Participating in functional team activities which support the operations of the Health Strategies practice.
  

REQUIREMENTS

• University degree required, preferably in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or related discipline;
  
• Completion of 3 to 5 SOA exams preferred;
  
• Enrolment/completion of CEBS designation desirable;
  
• Relevant experience in a consulting/insurance environment working in group underwriting and group benefits departments preferred;
  
• Applicants who do not have the industry experience, but have the required education and skills will also be considered.
