POSITION DESCRIPTION |
-
Select
and train unit managers and holding them accountable for
managerial work, distributing resources to direct reports
within their respective unit. The unit managers then report
directly with other parts of the business.

Resident expert to assist claims departments in improving
programs to effectively establish corporate guidelines and
manage loss costs and expenses consistent with established
policies and procedures. Participate in special projects to
evaluate claims functions and implement improvements of
processes and personnel to better serve customers, solve
systemic problems and meet corporate goals.

Assists
Claims management in developing policies, strategies,
budgets and long- and short-term plans to facilitate ongoing
work, process improvement, customer relations and other
functions. Acts as claims authority within area(s) of
expertise and provides direction on such issues as policy
interpretation, legal and technical issues or concerning
large losses. Settles large or complex claims within own
authority or escalates issues as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS |
-
University degree/college diploma preferred or equivalent
business experience.

CIP /
FCIP designation or actively pursuing and nearing completion
of same.

10 to
15 years of Claims experience
-
Minimum
of 10 years Personal Lines Claims experience which includes
automobile, residential and casualty adjusting and 2 years
in a management function.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all
levels of staff.

Proficiency in a variety of PC softwares including Microsoft
Word.
