POSITION DESCRIPTION

• Handle complex Environmental Claims

• Prepare timely coverage assessments and positional/reservation of rights and denial letters

• Review and maintain adequate claim reserves

• Monitor external counsel with respect to coverage, subrogation and litigation and ensuring litigation guidelines are in compliance

• Respond to brokers and insureds inquiries regarding claims files in a professional manner

• Attend settlement meetings and mediation

• Stay abreast of insurance industry legal developments in general, as well as those which are specific to Environmental claims

REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum 10-15 years experience handling Environmental Claims

• Good working knowledge of environmental concepts, remediation techniques and the regulations that govern these claims

• Proficient in investigation and assessment of Environmental Losses

• Work independently with minimal supervision

• Excellent oral and written communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

• Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast paced team environment and manage work load effectively, especially during times of high activity

• Good working knowledge of systems and PC applications (Windows, MS Word, and Excel)
