POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Coordinate and monitor A/B claims handling and ensure settlement E.g.:Record and assign new claims; Provide direction for adjustments to field; Issue initial instruction to legal counsel;Settlement mediation/arbitration

  • Review A/B files to ensure accurate recording, reporting and presentation E.g.:Verify detailed recording; Review/approve diary worksheets, and reports; Review bordereaux; Ensure National Account and FSCO Compliance; Assist with A/B PSR’s and audits

  • Account administration. E.g.:Correspondence and spreadsheet updates; Analyze policy wordings& make suggestionsEnsure electronic account information up-to-date and correct i.e. reserves & trusts;

  • Ensure accurate billing and monitor time and expense recording E.g.:Process and print adjuster fee accounts; Process payments for trust account clients;Sign settlement cheques; Review trial fees to for accurate invoicing; Encourage interim billing

  • A/B  Liaison E.g.:Respond to all internal inquiries & cover for A/B adjusters during absence

  • Attend to any problems involving accounts; Update client instructions

  • Inform employees of acct. handling procedures

  • Identify and implement business development strategies E.g.:Maintain open & regular client communications; Answer and expeditiously resolve inquiries

  • Work with adjusters to maintain client contact; Client, staff and vendor liaison

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Post-secondary education in an insurance related field

 EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years functional/technical experience in an insurance environment

 KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills; Attention to detail

  • Strong PC skills including above average knowledge of internal and client software systems

  • Demonstrates leadership with the ability to motivate; Team player

 DECISION MAKING/INTERACTION:

Continuous interaction with claimants and clients for the exchange of information often requiring analysis of alternative courses of action.

 SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/ CERTIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Maintenance of full adjusting license; Continuing education courses as required by CAC or the jurisdiction

 EQUIPMENT/TOOLS:

Computer, scanner, telephone, dictaphone, photocopier, quick reference to case law.
