POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Build long-term relationships with clients by communicating clear expectations; assist in project sizing, resource estimates, scope, and requirements

  • Exemplary communications skills, specifically in managing complex/technical information to a wide audience

  • Lead sessions with business representatives to perform business needs analysis

  • Demonstrated experience with Agile Development methodologies; RUP, UML

  • Experience with SOA concepts

  • Demonstrated experience implementing business intelligence architecture; Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts

  • Experience implementing CRM systems

  • Lead documentation of business initiatives using standardized templates

  • Lead/facilitate business process mapping

  • Analyze existing system functionality and current business processes

  • Prepare business requirements documents that clearly define the business problems; business objectives and options/solutions

  • Participate or lead daily team meetings (scrums)

  • Prepare project plans and provide regular status report to management

  • Lead the development and maintenance of processes, procedures, standards and tools for the BA service area

  • Use standard business analysis methodologies and templates

  • Provide and advise on technology solutions to meet business area needs

  • Create training materials and participate in training processes

  • Demonstrate experience with application of SOA concepts

  • Mentor BA team and peers on agile business solutions and methodologies

  • Demonstrate use of UML concepts

  • Continually assess new solution and evaluate processes to ensure the solutions meet customer's expectations

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 10 years experience as business analyst

  • Post-secondary education in business or information technology

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Proven experience in studying business processes and documenting requirements

  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Strong analytical skills, technical acumen and demonstrated experience in data gathering, data analysis, data back fill, conceptual and logical models

  • Knowledge of P&C industry an asset
